Solving the Rubik's Cube: Mastering the Top Cross-Layer Puzzle
Welcome back to the 4th episode of Solving the Rubik's Cube! In this episode, our focus will be on solving the top cross-layer which is the final layer of the cube. Solving this layer is a bit trickier than previous layers, which is why we'll be breaking down the steps into three separate videos to make it easier for you to follow along.
But before we dive into the details, let us remind you to like and subscribe to our channel if you enjoy this video. By doing so, you'll be able to stay tuned and catch up with the latest Rubik's Cube puzzles we share on our channel.
Solving the Top Cross-Layer
The fourth stage of solving the Rubik's Cube involves forming a cross on the yellow layer by establishing a cross on the yellow layer. When you reach this stage, you may be in one of the following scenarios:
You have an L shape which is facing you. If you observe the shape from different angles, you will notice that it has to be positioned to the right of you. To solve this shape, you need to follow the steps below:
- Rotate it to the right.
- Pull it up.
- Rotate it to the left.
- Bring it down.
- Rotate it back to its original position.
You may already have a horizontal line on the yellow layer. If that is the case, then you only need to follow the above-mentioned steps once to get the horizontal cross.
You may be lucky and already have a cross-shaped line.
After following the above steps, you should see a cross on the yellow layer.
Aligning Each of The Middle Blocks
Once you have established the cross on the yellow layer, the next step is to align each of the middle blocks. The aim is to get one of the sides lined up and connected to the other side. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Rotate the cube so that you are on a broken side.
- Do this sequence of moves: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
- Reconfigure and fix the cube.
- Repeat the same steps with another broken segment until you have established the correct fixed sequence.
By doing these steps, you will be able to align each of the middle blocks on the yellow layer.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, solving the top cross-layer on the Rubik's Cube is not an easy task, but it is not impossible either. With patience and practice, you will eventually be able to master it like a pro.
