How to Build a Spreadsheet of Low Competition Etsy Keywords
Are you struggling to find low-competition keywords for your Etsy store? Look no further! In this article, we will show you how to quickly and easily build a spreadsheet of low competition Etsy keywords using an API request and Google Sheets.
Steps to Build a Spreadsheet of Low Competition Etsy Keywords
First, make sure you stay "in" during the process. By this, we mean that you should not switch tabs or close the window while the download is taking place, or you will lose your progress. So, patience is the key here.
Start by finding a handful of Etsy long-tail keywords that you want to target.
Go to the Etsy search bar and enter one of the longer-tail keywords you found.
Notice how Etsy autofills some other keywords, that's what we'll target next.
Click on one of the suggested keywords. In the URL, you will see a code like this: "search_query=abc&ref=auto-1".
Change the "1" at the end of the URL to "2" or "3", and hit enter. This will show you more long-tail keywords related to your original search.
To get even more keywords, go to https://etsy.com/search/suggested and repeat the process, incrementing the number at the end of the URL.
Now, copy all of these keywords into a CSV file. It should start downloading automatically.
Open a Google Sheet, upload the CSV file, and start cleaning the data.
To clean the data, use the following steps:
- Click "Control F", then the three buttons that appear next to it.
- In the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the screen, type "hyphen Etsy" and replace with nothing. This will make the data easier to read.
Finally, go through the list of keywords and find the ones that are most relevant to your Etsy niche. For instance, if you're selling t-shirts, search for the keyword "shirt" and see what comes up.
- Keep in mind that keywords with fewer results don't always indicate low competition. Instead, focus on keywords that Etsy suggests and those related to your niche.
- You can also use tools like Google AdWords Keyword Planner or SEMrush to find low competition Etsy keywords.
- Experiment with different long-tail keywords and test which ones work best for your store.
With these steps, you can create a spreadsheet of low competition Etsy keywords and boost your store's visibility. As always, remember to keep your content relevant and high-quality. Good luck!
